Park Run

The final amount of my July 13th 5K sponsored jog during the Warwick Parkrun was an amazing and very gratefully received sum of £726.22.

I’m overwhelmed and truly touched by the support offered, showing confidence in the charity and the team’s efforts to steward it responsibly.

Just a ‘thank you’ to all our sponsors, followers and encouragers for your such generous support doesn’t seem enough, but it’s all I have to offer and comes from the bottom of my heart.

Margaret Hogg

Park Run

A huge thank you to all of you for your support, both verbal and financial, it was a great encouragement to me and now I’VE DONE IT!

Saturday, July 13th, I entered the 5K at Warwick Racecourse for the Parkrun and my sponsored event towards Women Stepping Out’s annual charges.

I did the course in 47 minutes and 48 seconds, a personal best for me and I came second in my age category. The amount of money raised so far from several sources is now over £300.00p but the final amount will be published on our website.

Credit also needs to go to Run Like a Girl for their support and structured training. Their ‘Run 30’ an eight-week programme meant I could go from jogging 1.5 minutes with difficulty on week one to jogging fairly easily for 30 minutes nonstop by week eight.

Again, thank you so much everyone for your generosity in every way.

All good wishes,

Margaret

Trial Run

Margaret from WSO did her first trial at the full 5K which she completed in 48 minutes and 28 seconds! Out of 357 runners, she was 2nd in her age group! This was in preparation for when Margaret does the 5k next month for our charity fundraising.

Thanks to the Run Like A Girl - Run30 program for helping Margaret train safely each week.

Anne, another member of WSO who is also a ParkRun official was there to cheer her on. Margaret said, ‘It was hard work but still fun and I wasn’t last!’

Well done Margaret, we are so proud of you!

Park Run Fundraising Event

Saturday, 13 July 2024

  • 09:00 am

  • Warwick Racecourse, Warwick. CV34 6HN.

    England, United Kingdom

To all our super followers and interested others,

I’m fundraising for Women Stepping Out generally and more specifically, for our annual running costs, (no pun intended) by entering the Parkrun 5K/3 miles, which is twice around Warwick Racecourse on Saturday, July 13th at 9 am.

This will be a challenge for me but I’ve been walking more and quicker since January and I’m now at the weight I hoped I would be as I start eight weekly evening sessions with ‘Run Like a Girl’ in St Nicholas Park for a more structured practice and final push to achieve a good time on the day. Actually, to do it and survive without tripping up will be a result.

If you would like to sponsor me, click the donate button on the website or use the link: https://www.peoplesfundraising.com/fundraising/margarets-5k-for-women-stepping-out. I will also accept notes and hard cash on the day!

Thank you,

Margaret.
